Join us in bringing some extra color to the Featherstone campus: we are staging a Yarn Bombing!
Yarn bombing is a fun, community friendly, fiber arts based event for people of any needle skill. It’s a form of temporary 'street art' (or 'campus art' for us) where yarn in any form (knit, crochet, etc.) adorns outdoor objects such as tree trunks, railings, porch posts, outdoor sculptures and so on!
Fiber artists from across the Island and beyond are asked to contribute crocheted, knitted and felted pieces that will cover our landscape in time for the opening of our June exhibition.
All skill levels are welcome. We are seeking 6” and 12” squares, or 12” rectangles of any length. Pom Poms and fiber flowers (6” in diameter or larger) are also great additions to this design.
Bright colors in any and all combinations will really make our landscape “pop1"
We welcome contributions from individuals as well as knitting circles and other groups. Specific areas can be set aside for groups to show off their collective contributions.
Submission drop-off will be June 4-5.
A sample crocheted “granny square” pattern is available here.
