In our Projects Workshop, you will receive expert guidance and direction in completing, polishing, and/or presenting your ongoing or finished projects. You will explore techniques and strategies for bookmaking, exhibition design, and/or applying for various opportunities. This workshop will require independent research, class discussion, and peer review. This workshop series will be led by Sarah Stolfa, the founding CEO of Tilt Institute for the Contemporary Image. Visiting Artist: Beginner Photography Workshop with Sarah Stolfa
Days: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday Dates: July 24-26 Time: 9:00AM - 12:00PM Location: Art Barn Library Fee: $200 for 3 day/9 hour course *Please note that computers at Featherstone are limited, please bring a personal laptop or tablet to the workshop. In our Beginner Photography Workshop you will gain basic knowledge of, and improve their skills with digital cameras and lenses. You will learn how to use manual camera controls, how to choose the best lenses for your needs, and how to manage a digital workflow. Students will also be introduced to different photographic genres, build upon their photographic vocabulary, and engage in class discussions. You can register for a one-on-one portfolio review with photographer and founder of Tilt Institute Sarah Stolfa. In this meeting you will have an in depth discussion about your work and process, receive a constructive critique, and be advised on your next steps for your work and career. Stolfas career spans 20+ years and includes group and solo exhibitions, publications, and founding the photography organization: Tilt Institute for the Contemporary Image (fka PPAC). Sarah graduated from Drexel University’s Photography program, and received her MFA from Yale University in 2009.
