Adventures in Art (ages 3-5)
with Helen Hall and Buffy Carroll
Days: Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays

Art is all around us on the Featherstone campus. Join us as we investigate our campus and learn elements of art and mix media during our art afternoon explorations designed just for the preschooler. A wide range of art experiences will be offered where students will utilize different materials and techniques, all designed to build confidence and experiment with creativity, while also enriching basic fine motor skill development. Our ideas will develop as the seasons change. “Anything can happen, and that’s the beauty of art.”

As Featherstone’s Art Explorers, children will be introduced to functional design, aesthetics and creative problem solving using Form, Shape, and Space as their guides. Each artist will have the opportunity to utilize a variety of mediums including Collage, Drawing, Fiber Arts, Mixed Media, Murals, Painting, Paper Making, Printmaking and Sculpture to help find their visual voice and further their creative self-expression.

Creative Spark (3rd - 6th Grade)

Artists will be encouraged to observe the world around them and have the opportunity to create and color their own worlds. Students will explore their creative spark with ceramic hand building led by Sabrina Kuchta, working on varied clay projects such as animals, fairy houses and creatively decorated mugs!

Children's Saturday Crafting: Flowers (ages 6+)

Come make a bouquet of crafted flowers for Mother's Day during this special The Art of Flowers themed children's art class.

Children's Ceramic Exploration (ages 7+)

In this class, students will explore various techniques in hand building. From decorative planters to dragons to mugs, children will learn and experiment with multiple techniques in construction and decoration of functional and sculptural pieces.
PARENTS PLEASE NOTE:
All artwork will be bisque fired after each class, which takes an additional 2 weeks before pick up. This is a hand building class, no wheels will be used.

Come have fun in the Children’s Art Studio on Saturdays crafting and exploring different forms of art! Fiber based projects such as weaving, cross stitch, embroidery and simple sewing are also available for those interested in needle arts!

Children's Valentine Crafting (ages 6+) with Helen Hall

Artists will be invited to explore their own creativity in this mixed media class. With a focus on printmaking and silk-screening, this class is for any students who are interested in experimenting in printmaking, drawing, and painting.
