Beading: The Art of Knotting with Lucinda Sheldon

Techniques taught include choosing appropriate stringing materials, finishing techniques, the classic technique of pearl and bead knotting, wire twisting and basic design. Stringing materials and a variety of gemstone and other unique beads included but students can also bring their own if they wish. |
Enameling: Glass on Metal Workshops with Lucinda Sheldon
Dates: Saturdays Dates: January 21 / February 4, 18 / March 4, 18 / April 15, 29 / May 13 / June 17 / July 15, 29 / September 9 / November 18 / December 2 Time: 10:00AM - 1:00PM Location: Jewelry Studio Fee: $75 for each 3 hour workshop, includes materials (copper dishes and wooden boxes additional). Enameling is an ancient art form applying powdered glass to metal and firing it to fusing in a kiln or with a torch. During class you will have the opportunity to make either an ornament, pendant, earrings, or even a bowl or decorated wooden box. Learn to sift, stencil, stamp and appliqué enamel on a variety of different copper shapes. |
Personalized Stamped Ring Workshop with Ivry Russillo
Days: Thursdays Dates: September 28 // October 12 Time: 3:00PM - 6:00PM Location: Jewelry Studio Fee: $70, includes copper. Sterling silver is an additional $25. Students will be taught how to cut a piece of copper metal to the size it will fit them properly by using the metric system. These ring bands will be decorated with letter and design stampings. You will be introduced to soldering, which is an essential part of jewelry fabrication. Students will learn hand sawing, stamping, soldering, filing, sanding and polishing and will walk away with a finished ring. |
Stamped Cuff Bracelet Workshop with Ivry Russillo
Days: Thursday Dates: October 5 Time: 4:00PM - 6:00PM Location: Jewelry Studio Fee: $50, includes all materials All levels welcome to participate in a hand stamped cuff bracelet workshop. Students will hand cut a bracelet template in brass or copper in preparation to stamp multiple designs on the cuff. An array of stamps from floral, leaves, symbols of nature, and other designs are available. You will form, file, sand, and polish until completion. A perfect class for gift giving or something hand made for yourself. |

Lost Wax Casting with Ivry Russillo
Days: Thursdays Dates: April 6, 13, 20, 27, May 4, 11 Time: 10:00AM - 1:00PM Location: Jewelry Studio Fee*: $390 (6 classes/18 hours) includes wax materials and wax pen to keep. *Please note: fee does not include casting costs - these additional costs will depend on each student's project (range between $40-$90 per piece for sterling silver & $20-55 per piece for brass or bronze). Students will explore working with wax on a small sculptural scale to create wearable art. This class will teach you to mold and manipulate wax pieces that will become jewelry through the process of lost wax casting (not done in class - work will be sent away for casting). Group demonstrations, individual help and your creativity will provide you with limitless possibilities to create unique pieces with this fun process. The primary project will be a 2D pendant (up to 3"x3", no stones) hand carved in wax. Techniques include: manipulating wax with melting techniques, filing, drilling, design transfer and free form sculpture. No stone setting, no previous experience necessary. |

Torch and Kiln Enameling with Lucinda Sheldon

This is a 4 week course enabling students to dive into enameling with time to learn the various techniques. Enameling is an ancient art form applying powdered glass to metal and firing it to fusing in a kiln or with a torch. Learn to sift, stencil, stamp and appliqué enamel on a variety of different copper shapes. During this 4 week course you will cover: Week 1 - “Layering”- Counterenameling, sifting, stenciling, and stamping Week 2 - “Removing" - Sawing, punching, sgraffito Week 3 - “Containing” - Cloisonne Week 4 - Students choice for final piece This course is perfect for those wanting to deepen their enameling knowledge but also appropriate for beginners looking to learn the basics. |
