Techniques taught include choosing appropriate stringing materials, finishing techniques, the classic technique of pearl and bead knotting, wire twisting and basic design. Stringing materials and a variety of gemstone and other unique beads are included but students can also bring their own if they wish. |
Enameling on Copper Workshop with David Kuchta
Date: Saturday, March 29 Time: 2:00PM - 5:00PM Location: Jewelry Studio Fee: $75 for 3 hour workshop, includes materials. Enameling is an ancient art form applying powdered glass to metal and firing it by fusing in a kiln or with a torch. Learn to sift, stencil, stamp and appliqué enamel to create a one-of-a-kind piece. During this copper class you will have the opportunity to make either an ornament, pendant, tiny bowl or earrings. This class is suitable for beginners as well as advanced students wishing to build upon skills. |
Cloisonné Enameling Course with Lucinda Sheldon
Days: Saturdays Dates: March 8, 15, 22 Time: 10:00AM - 12:00PM Location: Jewelry Studio Fee: $160 for 3 week course includes 3” square piece of fine silver, cloisonné wire provided. Wooden boxes to set enamel pieces in are an extra $35. Cloisonné involves designing with silver wire using transparent enamels on fine .999 silver. In this 3 class course, you will learn how to design and enamel a 3” fine silver square. This piece may be mounted on a wooden box or framed (box and frame are not included in course). Week One:

Basics of Metal Smithing Workshop with Liam McGorman
Date: Wednesday, February 26 Time: 3:00PM - 6:00PM Location: Jewelry Studio Fee: $95, includes materials Come create your own pair of silver earrings or a necklace pendant while learning basic metal smithing skills. You will make a pair of argentium silver (fine 93.7% silver) earrings by filing, shaping and imprinting the argentium, then forming before soldering a 1/2 bead to each. You will drill holes and attach ear hooks, completing your earring set. All levels welcome, beginner friendly! |
