Techniques taught include choosing appropriate stringing materials, finishing techniques, the classic technique of pearl and bead knotting, wire twisting and basic design. Stringing materials and a variety of gemstone and other unique beads are included but students can also bring their own if they wish. |
ART NIGHT! Jewelry: Personalized Holiday Ornament with Ivry Russillo
Date: Wednesday, November 20th Time: 5:00PM - 7:00PM Location: Jewelry Studio Fee: $50, includes all materials Students will cut out a star or pine tree shaped ornament while building their sawing skills with brass or copper metal sheet. You will learn filing, sanding, and finishing and hand stamping techniques to complete a personalized ornament. The studio offers a variety of alphabet stamps as well as decorative to complete a festive handmade keepsake! All levels welcome, ages 16 and older. |

Enameling is an ancient art form applying powdered glass to metal and firing it to fusing in a kiln or with a torch. Learn to sift, stencil, stamp and appliqué enamel to create a one of a kind piece. During a copper class you will have the opportunity to make either an ornament, pendant, tiny bowl or earrings. Cloisonné involves designing with silver wire using transparent enamels on fine .999 silver. Students are asked to bring a simple line drawing for their design on a 1.25" round silver disk. |

Students will cut a bracelet template in brass or copper and. an array of stamps from floral, leaves, symbols of nature, and other designs are available to create your own design. You will form, file, sand, and polish until completion. A fun entry level class for those interested in jewelry making. Wine and tea will be available, or bring your own! |
Enameled Flower Bowl Workshop with Lucinda Sheldon
Date: Saturday, May 18 Time: 10:00AM - 1:00PM Location: Jewelry Studio Fee: $80 for 4" (copper) Flower Bowl Join us Saturday, May 18th for a special one day flower themed workshop coinciding with our annual The Art of Flowers exhibit in the gallery. In this 3 hour workshop, you will design a floral themed enamel design on a 4" copper bowl perfect for jewelry or small knicknacks. Enameling is an ancient art form applying powdered glass to metal and firing it to fusing in a kiln or with a torch. Learn to sift, stencil, stamp and appliqué enamel to create a one of a kind piece. |
Flower Pendant Workshop with Ivry Russillo
Date: Thursday, May 9 Time: 5:00PM - 7:30PM Location: Jewelry Studio Fee: $85 includes all materials and sterling silver chain. Celebrate The Art of Flowers during our annual exhibit in May and create something special for yourself! Come design your own floral sterling silver pendant during this 2.5 hour workshop with Ivry Russillo. Students will sketch a flower design which will then be transferred onto a 1.25 inch piece of sterling silver sheet. The design will then be hand cut, filed, stamped, shaped, and drilled to become a wearable necklace. |
Lost Wax Casting with Ivry Russillo
Days: Thursdays Dates: February 29, March 7, 14, 21, 28, April 4 Time: 10:00AM - 1:00PM Location: Jewelry Studio Fee*: $390 (6 classes/18 hours) includes wax materials and wax pen to keep. *Please note: fee does not include casting costs - these additional costs will depend on each student's project (range between $40-$90 per piece for sterling silver & $20-55 per piece for brass or bronze). Students will explore working with wax on a small sculptural scale to create wearable art. This class will teach you to mold and manipulate wax pieces that will become jewelry through the process of lost wax casting (not done in class - work will be sent away for casting). Group demonstrations, individual help and your creativity will provide you with limitless possibilities to create unique pieces with this fun process. The primary project will be a 2D pendant (up to 3"x3", no stones) hand carved in wax. Techniques include: manipulating wax with melting techniques, filing, drilling, design transfer and free form sculpture. No stone setting, no previous experience necessary. |
