Intro to Forging: Cuff Bracelet with Cecilia Minnehan
Day: Wednesdays
Dates: June 5, 19 // July 3, 17, 31 // August 14, 28 // September 11, 25 // October 9, 23 // November 6 // December 11
(This class is offered every other week and rotates with "Soldering Stackable Rings").
Time: 2:00PM - 5:00PM
Location: Jewelry Studio
Fee: $80 per class, includes all materials
No previous experience required. Min age 14. *Please see dress code below.

Want to learn how to make your own forged cuff bracelet? In this 3 hour workshop by Cecilia Minnehan, from Cecilia Designs, you will learn how to forge/hammer a round wire into the shape or design you would like. You will learn how to light up the torch and anneal the wire in between the forging. You will also learn about tumble finishing for a smooth bright finish or options for a matte finish. This is a perfect introduction to an important skill for making jewelry.
Metalsmithing skills covered in this class:
  • Forging
  • Proper procedures for using a torch
  • Annealing
  • Sanding / finishing / polishing options

Torch & Fired Enameling: Glass on Metal with Lucinda Sheldon 
​Day: Thursdays
Dates: September 12, 19, 26 // October 3, 10, 24 // November 7, 14, 21 // December 5, 12
Time: 2:00PM - 5:00PM
Location: Jewelry Studio
Fee: $80 includes materials
No previous experience required. Minimum age 14.

Come experience the magic of enameling - Watch grains turn glossy and bond to metal. In this class you will learn how to:
  • prepare metal for enameling
  • apply enamel to metal
  • sift, stencil, scraffito and other enameling techniques
  • fire a enamel with a torch and a kiln
  • finish a piece of enamel with a jewelers flex shaft.

Best of all, you will be able to take home some wonderful samples of enamels you have created! Build skills through additional classes on Tuesday or Thurday mornings.

Soldering Stackable Rings with Cecilia Minnehan
Day: Wednesdays
Dates: June 12, 26 // July 10, 24 // August 7, 21 // September (no class Sept 4), 18 // October 2, 16, 30 // November 13 // December 4
(This class is offered every other week and rotates with "Intro to Forging: Cuff  Bracelet").
Time: 2:00PM - 5:00PM

Want to learn how to solder? In this 3 hour class with Cecilia Minnehan, from Cecilia Designs you will be able to complete a wearable ring. The class will repeat weekly - take additional classes to design multiple rings!
Metalsmithing skills covered in this class:
  • Soldering safety and how to light up a torch.
  • Soldering
  • Forming a ring
  • Proper use of a jewelers saw
  • Setting a stone in a pre-made bezel
  • Polishing options

Solder & Bezel Set a Sea Glass Charm or Pendant with Cecilia Minnehan
Day: Tuesdays
Dates: December 3rd and 10th
Time: 9:00AM - 1:00PM
Fee: $110.00, all class materials included.  Minimum age 14.

In one 4-hour class you will create and complete a beautiful custom sterling charm or pendant from our collection of colorful beach glass pieces appropriate for a beginner level. (Must have completed the 5-week soldering 101 class If you wish to use your own beach glass piece).
Metalsmithing skills covered in this class:
  • Soldering safety and how to light up a torch.
  • Soldering
  • Forming a bezel
  • Setting a beach glass in your hand made bezel
  • Proper use of a flexible shaft
  • Polishing options

Workshop: Enameling (glass on metal) Handmade Holiday Gifts with Lucinda Sheldon
Dates: Saturday, December 7th and Sunday, December 8th
Time:  10:00AM - 2:30PM (includes 30 min. break, bring lunch!)
Location: Jewelry Studio
Fee: $85.00 per day includes most materials, extra charge for wooden boxes and larger copper pieces.
$20.00 extra charge for wooden box and large copper bowl.
Come experience the magic of enameling from grains to glossy.  Make a variety of pieces from jewelry to giftware. Depending on number of firings per piece, each class will be able to complete at least two projects. A wooden box top inset, an ornament, a small dish, and/or a piece of jewelry.
You will learn how to:
        - prepare metal
        - apply enamel
        - learn to sift, stencil, scaffito and more
        - fire enamel with torch or kiln
        - finish piece using jewelers flex shaft
Best of all, you will take home some wonderful examples of enamels you have created.

Times: 10:00AM-3:30PM each day (includes 30 minute lunch break each day)

Fee: $350 for 3 day workshop (15 hours), includes all materials.
No previous experience required. Min age 14. *Please see dress code below.

This is an accelerated 3 day workshop over Veteran’s Weekend, bring your bagged lunch! 
In this 3 day workshop with Cecilia Minnehan, from Cecilia Designs, you will learn everything you wanted to know about hard soldering.
  • How to set up your own soldering station. You will be provided with a jewelry tool catalog and we will review all the absolute minimum tools needed to begin soldering in your own shop.
  • How to manipulate metal: bending, folding, twisting, hammering, piercing sanding filling & how all those pieces will solder together.
  • How to prepare your metals for soldering & how to solder different thicknesses to each other.
There will be a final project you can make specializing in what interests you the most.

Metalsmithing skills covered in this class:
  • Torch set-up
  • Types of solder and their purpose
  • Soldering wires, jump rings, earring posts, bezel wire
  • Annealing
  • Piercing / sanding / finishing / polishing options

We will work with copper, and sterling.
Please bring reading glasses if you use them! Open to students of any level, Beginners welcome! No previous experience required.

Soldering 101/102 with Cecilia Minnehan
Day: Wednesdays (5 week class = 15 hours)
Session 1: September 18th to October 16th
Soldering 101 will be offered again mid-January 2020.
Time: 9:30 AM - 12:30 PM
Location: Jewelry Studio
Fee:  5 Week Session: $340 
Fee includes all materials. 
No previous experience required, also open to intermediates with ongoing projects. Minimum age 14. 

This class is available for new students as well as those who have taken Soldering 101 and are ready for 102 level projects to build intermediate and advanced skills. 
In this 5 week class by Cecilia Minnehan, from Cecilia Designs, you will learn the fundamentals of soldering and how to set up your own soldering station. You will learn about manipulating metal, bending, folding, twisting, hammering, sanding, filling and how all pieces will solder together, how to prepare your metals for soldering and how to solder different thicknesses to each other. We will work with copper and sterling. For beginner students, no previous knowledge is required to attend this class, and students with some experience can greatly benefit from this class as well.

Beading: The Art of Knotting with Lucinda Sheldon
Day: Mondays 
Dates: June 3, 17, 24 // July 1, 8, 15, 22, 29 // August 5, 12, 19, 26 // September 2, 9, 16, 23, 30 
 // October 7, 28 // November 4, 18, 25 // December 2, 9, 16
Time: 2:00PM - 4:00PM
Location: Jewelry Studio 
Fee: $50 includes materials
No previous experience required, ages 13+ welcome.
                  
Come experiment with beads and learn the art of knotting with Lucinda Sheldon. Techniques taught include choosing appropriate stringing materials, finishing techniques, the classic technique of pearl and bead knotting, wire twisting and basic design. Stringing materials and a variety of gemstone and other unique beads included but students can also bring their own if they wish.
