Suggested Materials List for Color Workshop

I will be conducting demonstrations in pastel, but students can execute class work in any color medium of their choice.

For your “masterpieces” (after studies are completed):
I will have plenty of extra paper and boards when needed.

PHOTO REFERENCE
- Please bring 6-10 photos for painting reference.
- Photos can be color or black and white.
- A wide variety of color, plus white. Any medium, any brand
- Colors should include:
- Primary colors: Red, yellow and blue
- Secondary colors: Orange, purple and green
- If possible, tertiary colors: red/orange, yellow/orange, yellow/green, blue/green, blue/violet, red/violet.
- Primary colors: Red, yellow and blue
For class studies (everyone will be doing some). I suggest:
- Paint mediums: numerous small boards or heavy weight paper for studies.
- Pastel or stick medium: numerous small sheets of half-tone or darker paper, charcoal paper or pastel boards. (”Half-tone” refers to the dark to light value of the color. Half-tone colors are “halfway” between white and black.)
For your “masterpieces” (after studies are completed):
- Larger boards, papers or substrates that you would normally use.
I will have plenty of extra paper and boards when needed.
