Suggested Materials List for Color Workshop
Instructor: Gigi Horr Liverant

I will be conducting demonstrations in pastel, but students can execute class work in any color medium of their choice.
PHOTO REFERENCE
  • Please bring 6-10 photos for painting reference.
  • Photos can be color or black and white.
ALL MEDIUMS: OIL, ACRYLIC, WATERCOLOR, PASTELS, ETC
  • A wide variety of color, plus white. Any medium, any brand
  • Colors should include:
    • Primary colors: Red, yellow and blue
    • Secondary colors: Orange, purple and green
    • If possible, tertiary colors: red/orange, yellow/orange, yellow/green, blue/green, blue/violet, red/violet.
PAPER
For class studies (everyone will be doing some). I suggest:
  • Paint mediums: numerous small boards or heavy weight paper for studies.
  • Pastel or stick medium: numerous small sheets of half-tone or darker paper, charcoal paper or pastel boards.  (”Half-tone” refers to the dark to light value of the color.  Half-tone colors are “halfway” between white and black.)
We will be doing lots of studies, so please bring numerous sheets of paper or board.
For your “masterpieces” (after studies are completed):
  • Larger boards, papers or substrates that you would normally use.

I will have plenty of extra paper and boards when needed.
