Statement Regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19)

March 11, 2020 - Featherstone Center for the Arts would like to share with our community that we remain open for business and are paying close attention to COVID-19. The health and safety of our students, artists, instructors, visitors and staff remain our highest priority, and we are closely monitoring developments around COVID-19. We are implementing safeguards and best practices as outlined by federal health authorities and state and local officials.

Currently, the risk of infection on Martha’s Vineyard remains low and there is no indication of direct risk on our campus at this time. However, we are taking additional precautions - including increasing cleaning, sanitation and supplying hand sanitizer wipes (and of course plenty of soap at every bathroom and studio sink!). We are encouraging everyone to follow the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommendations including staying home if you are sick: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-nCoV/index.html

At this time we are continuing with our regular schedule of classes and our gallery remains open. We are continuing to carefully monitor the situation and follow recommendations from the CDC and the Massachusetts Department of Public Health: https://www.mass.gov/resource/information-on-the-outbreak-of-coronavirus-disease-2019-covid-19 as well as the Town of Oak Bluffs: https://www.oakbluffsma.gov/AlertCenter.aspx

We will share any changes to our schedule on our website, voicemail and social media.
