Introduction to the materials (paper, pencils, erasers, etc.)
II. Basic Drawing Techniques (45 minutes)
Review line, shape, and form: Understanding the fundamentals of drawing.
Contour drawing exercise: Outlining objects without lifting the pencil.
Value: Introduction to shading techniques (hatching, cross-hatching, stippling).
Still-life drawing exercise: Applying basic techniques to create form and depth.
III. Perspective Drawing (30 minutes)
Understanding perspective: One-point and two-point perspective.
Perspective drawing exercise: Sketching simple objects in one-point perspective.
Adding depth to compositions using perspective techniques.
IV. Composition and Proportion (45 minutes)
Rule of thirds: Understanding compositional balance and focal points.
Proportion and scale: Techniques for accurately representing objects in relation to each other.
Composition exercise: Creating a balanced composition using the rule of thirds and proportional guidelines.
V. Observational Drawing (60 minutes)
Importance of observation in drawing and painting -slow looking.
