Take a Seat: The Chair Show
We all have them- they live in our homes, offices, on the porch, and at the beach.
So many of us on island use repurposed materials and structures to create warm comfortable spaces. We want to see how you the artist can find inspiration in the daily often over looked object: “The Chair”. Whether it’s painting, drawing, sculpting, woodworking, welding, reupholstering or using unconventional materials, we encourage all artists to think outside the box. Don’t be shy! Let’s create our own usable, or non usable chair, to plant our bodies or merely for decoration.
Sunday, March 15th 4pm - 6pm
Open Daily from 12pm-4pm through Wednesday April 8th

Pathways OceA Wilderness Festival at Featherstone!
Pathways invites you to imagine new works that vitally engage with ocean wilderness locations on Martha's Vineyard, exploring experiences of wind, wave, flight, sand and extraordinary light. We encourage you to travel to wild aqua~terrestrial places, literally or in imagination, to create artworks in resonance and interconnection with treasured oceans spaces.
Pathways fifth annual OceA Wilderness Festival opens jointly at Pathways Living Room Gallery in Chilmark, at Featherstone, and at coastal sites across island as part of our first MAKE WAVES MARTHA'S VINEYARD OceA Festival. Curated by Marianne Goldberg, with Featherstone and the Pathways Team, we welcome work in all mediums composed by individual artists or collaborative teams.

One 4th of July, Helen broke her ankle, the summer ahead looked bleak since she would not be able to do any of the things she loved to do, so at age 50 she started taking drawing classes with Ruth Mead at the Old Sculpin Gallery. That was the start of her new found love of making art which has continued unabated to this day. She went on to study painting , watercolor, oil ,acrylic and pastels. Helen has had numerous shows at Old Sculpin and then when Featherstone was started almost 20 years ago, she took classes, worked in the Gallery and showed there also. At 93 Helen paints everyday and is still taking classes most recently with Roberta Gross at Featherstone
